Spring Fun Activities

Spring is an amazing time of year! Many plants and animals that were dormant for the winter, are starting to reappear and blossom! Our Bicentennial Nature Center Network partners have a lot going on! Below is a list of spring activities going on across the state from our nature center partners to get you outside this season!

Sorted by county, there's something for everyone this spring!

Boone County:
Zion Nature Center hosts lots of fun nature events! Join them for Animal Adventures: Animal Babies on May 4th, or Mommy and Me: Worms on May 18! There is something for everyone.

Franklin County
Brookville Lake: 
Join Brookville Lake April 22 for their Earth Day celebration! Help clean up around the lake and then learn about the dam.

Hamilton County
Cool Creek Nature Center 
has lots of events this spring. Join in the Homeschooler Hike February 20, join some maple syrup events in March, or join the nature center for story time! There is a lot to do!

Conner Prairie. Spring in a great time to visit Conner Prairie. Participate in a Hearthside Supper through March, get tickets for Follow the North Star program in April, or learn about careers in science! There are so many things to do - what will you choose?

Jackson County:
Muscatatuck NWR: 
March 17 is Wetland Day, join in on walks/tours showing off this amazing area, or take part in the family fishing workshop or Earth Day clean up in April. May brings birding with the Muscatatuck Bird Festival and May Day Bird Count! Don't miss out on the fun!

Marion County:
Eagle Creek Park offers lots of programming! Visit on the weekends (Saturday – Sunday) for raptor feeding times, join in a morning bird walk, or catch Storytime at the resevoir!

Holliday Park: There is always lots to do at Holliday Park! Join in Family Yoga in the Park, participate in Sap to Syrup Day, or take part in the Children's art show! What will you choose?

Indianapolis Zoo: Starting March 18 join the Zoo in Butterfly Kaleidoscope, take part in Breakfast with Bunny or check out Zoopolis 500! Find something that fits your family.

Porter County:
Shirley Heinze Land Trust 
has several educational hikes planned for 2018! Join in on learning about Indiana native plants or birding!

Rum Village: Sign your kids up for Nature Detectives! There are several camp times for your kids to explore nature hands-on and become young naturalists!

Lily Nature Center
 regularly hosts events. Join them for Wednesday in the Wild, junior nature club, or nature hikes! There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Whitewater Memorial State Park has several events coming up. Join them for an Easter Egg hunt, cornhole tournament, or National Trails Day!

Vanderburgh County:
Wesselman Woods Nature Center is hosting the Maple Sugarbush Festival and Pancake Breafast March 3-4,  and join them every Sunday at 2pm for Animal Encounters! There are over 50 animals living at the Nature Center and you can get and up-close look at them while learning about them from the naturalists.

Dobbs Park Nature Center in Terre Haute has lots of Saturday programming to get involved with our natural world. From learning about animals to craft time, find an event that works for you!
