Poster Contest Winners

Kids' Nature Poster

Indiana has lots of great natural scenery and fascinating creatures! How do we know? You showed us with your pictures! You were asked to submit a photo in one of three categories: 1) kids in nature, 2) nature scenery, and 3) nature close-ups.

We wanted to know what you find interesting, inspiring, or beautiful about being outside in Indiana. Your pictures showed us amazing natural objects, creatures and people.  While we enjoyed all the photo entries we received, the following young Hoosiers are the winners of the Kids Nature Poster Contest!

Kids in Nature, Winner

Daisy from Bartholomew County sent in this photo and is inspired by them because she “get[s] to see new, different animals and plants.”

“I like to be outside,” she says, “it inspires me.”

Nature Close-ups, Winners

Many outstanding photographs were submitted in this category, so we selected multiple winners.

Ethan from Hendricks County took this inspiring shot of "the sunbeam behind the pinecone." He loves our natural world because "nature is so beautiful, I love to hike and see what God has created."

Emily from Carroll County captured this special photo. She says, “this is a monarch butterfly that I raised from an egg. It was taken on the day that it hatched and began to fly. I have hatched 20 butterflies this fall and love it because they end up so pretty.”

Emily says she finds “being in nature, kayaking, hiking, biking, camping, and playing outside makes [her] feel happy.”

Nature Close-ups, Honorable Mention

Rahianna, from Bartholomew County, receives an honorable mention for her shot of this dragonfly. She is inspired by nature because she is “learning new things and getting to see what’s all around us.”

When asked why nature means she something to her, Rahianna said, “I like to be outside because it inspires me.”
