Past Children of Indiana Nature Park Contests

Contests end, but the submissions and winners of them are still recognized! Below you will find past contests held by the Children of Indiana Nature Park. If you missed the contests, they are still great ideas for connecting your students and young people with nature.

Build a Birdhouse Contest

Daisy from Bartholomew County won our "Build a Birdhouse" contest! She built it so bluebirds, sparrows, and wrens might take shelter and raise their young there. She wants to watch these birds take care of their babies and plans to mount the birdhouse to a tree in her family's yard.

Congratulations, Daisy, on your good work learning how to care for our Indiana birds!

Nature Inspires Me T-Shirt Contest

The T-shirt design contest winner, Lillie from Promise Road Elementary School brought the Children of Indiana Nature Park to her school for Nature Burst! This celebration of nature was an opportunity for 700 students to receive their Nature IN-Deeds and learn to care for our natural world. Read the rest of the story here.

How I Love My Land

What do you love about nature? The wild animals? The smell of a pine tree or wildflowers? Leaves growing large and green on tree branches or watching them change color in the fall? The trickling of a stream or the buzzing of insects?
How do you care for nature? Whether it is cleaning up trash, planting native plants, exploring a natural area, or volunteering for nature events we know you are great stewards for our natural world!
Let us know what you love about nature or how you care for your land. Share your photos on Facebook. Tag the Children of Indiana Nature Park and use the hashtag #ILoveMyLand. And remember to make your posts public so we can see them! We’ll share your great photos on our Facebook page!
